Dalmatians are medium sized dog breed with short coat having black or brown liver spotted dots on it.These spots comes throughout their lives.Dalmatians have muscular compact well balanced bodies.Average height range for adult male Dalmatian is about 22-24 inches or 55-60 cm whereas height for a female Dalmatian lies in the range of 20-22 inches or 51-56 cm.
Males are about 23 inches tall, and females are about 22 inches tall. Both weigh about 45 to 60 pounds (20 to 27 kilograms). The Dalmatian is a graceful, medium-sized dog with a sleek, muscular body. The tail is fairly long and has a slight, upward curve.
Beneath the spots is a graceful, elegantly proportioned trotting dog standing between 19 and 23 inches at the shoulder. Dals are muscular, built to go the distance; the powerful hindquarters.
The breed may be related to the Pointer. Traces of spotted dogs are found in Egyptian bas-reliefs and Hellenic friezes, so it certainly is an ancient breed. In 1700 a dog known as the Bengal pointer, similar to the Dalmatian, existed in England, calling into question the Dalmatian’s Yugoslavian origin. Some claim the Dalmatian is a Croatian.
