The Guianan cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola rupicola), is a species of cock-of-the-rock.It is about 30 centimetres (12 in) in length and weighs about 200 to 220 grams (7.1 to 7.8 oz). They are found in tropical rainforests, near its preferred habitat of rocky outcrops.

The Andean cock-of-the-rock is the national bird of Peru. It is a medium-sized perching bird around 12 inches in length. The male Andean cock-of-the-rock has a bright red-orange head, neck, breast, and shoulders. It has a black body, gray wings, and a large disk .

The Guianan Cock-of-the-rock is known for its wonderful displays at the beginning of the breeding season. Several males (between 5 and 25, but sometimes up to 40-50) gather at communal leks, where each male has its own territory of about one or two metres of diameter.
