Caticlan Airport has a very short runway, and only a few types of commercial passenger airplanes can take off or land there. Asian Spirit uses mostly DHC Dash-7 aircraft on the Manila-Caticlan flights.They are not no to be sure, but they are sturdy planes.

Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and Philippines AirAsia are planning to pursue rapid expansion at Caticlan Airport in 2016 following the completion of a highly anticipated runway extension project. Caticlan is the closest airport to the popular Philippine resort island of Boracay but has seen limited growth over the years as it could only handle regional aircraft.

Kalibo Airport Opens Runway Extension Caticlan seems to have a bit of trouble adjusting the jets that have shown up. Facilities are taxed and I find it odd that you need to ride the bus through town to get from the plane to the terminal. BTW - I really enjoy your blog!.
