Apr 30, 2018 · Anal warts are a form of genital warts caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). They’re a type of genital wart that occurs inside or around the anus. In most cases, the warts don’t cause.

The HPV that lead to anal warts are not something to brag to your friends about. But they are also not the type which usually results in cancer. Symptoms of Anal Warts. Anal warts are a form of genital warts and similarly, start as tiny bumps and possibly can go for a little while without notice. It’s common that there will be no symptoms at all.

ANAL WARTS. Anal warts (condyloma acuminata) are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), the most common sexually transmitted disease (STD). The warts affect the area around and inside the anus, but may also develop on the skin of the genital area.

Anal Papanicolaou (Pap) smear cytology consists of using anal swabs to sample cells from the anal canal and can be used for both screening patients considered high-risk (see list above) and as follow up after anal dysplasia has been treated. Unfortunately, up to 45% of patients can have a false-positive test by anal PAP for anal dysplasia.
